At twenty and one-point-six-three/four/two (can't remember) tall, I am a girl who loves many things, and detests a few. Not very fond of setting out a whole list of 'about me's, so... just read on. :)

Japan

It'll take eons for me to blog in detail about the trip, so the lazy me has conceded and will only post up the more salient pictures, as shown below.

From left: Russ, myself, Jane, Eunice and Nic

Onuma National Park in Hakodate, Hokkaido where we cycled a good 14km and had plenty of fun throwing snow and tackling each other to the snowy ground.

This nice Japanese lady was one of the few who could speak English and she helped us get to one of the attractions we wanted to go to in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Her son is adorable! In fact all the kids in Japan seem to be adorable.

Us in Kyoto, the land of wonderful scenery and many temples.

Hana, the daughter of the owners of the inn we stayed at in Kyoto is one of the most gorgeous things I've seen.

I love this picture!

Us in Disneyland, momentarily kids again.

In Nikko, a place off Tokyo. Apparently the monkeys we're imitating here in one of the shrines are known far and wide because the catch phrase 'see no evil, hear no evil and say no evil' originated from them.

I have too many things to say about Japan that I now have blogger's block. I shall end off with one of the most poignant experiences I had over there:

Once in Nikko I woke up early to the sounds of Eunice's and Russ's wheezings (haha) and stepped out to take a walk, so that I could be alone. The pathway was littered with leaves; I sang 'Glorious Redeemer' as I walked on and gradually this huge clearing came into view and I saw mountains, as majestic as majestic can be, framed against the vast blue sky.

In the silence of that cold morning it was just me and His amazing creation, and there was peace in my heart like never before.

Thank You.

I am back!

Hopefully I'll be able to post up a detailed entry on the trip by the end of this week, but in short, the trip was a very good experience. Very! I have so many stories to tell and I only hope i won't forget them by the time I get down to typing about it.

Many, many things to settle now that I'm back; the most pressing being thinking about the year ahead - goals to be set, and things to reflect upon the past year. And down the list comes meeting up with dear friends - the elits, rhoda and roy, rapache with rouyin leaving for aussie very soon, choir juniors, counterpart and siew, spending more time with my family... because I know that once school starts, doing these things becomes very difficult. And personal grooming too - doing something to the head of little hair that I have, tidying up my brows, and getting rid of the holiday weight haha.

'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him. '

I await the coming year with anticipation. :) Merry christmas everyone!

whee

Flying to the land of the rising sun in about 6 hours time, and thinking about the trip to the airport and subsequently getting on the plane and all the things you do when you go to a foreign country gets my heart accelerating! Being able to travel is a blessing, and being able to do it with friends is an even greater blessing. Not to say doing it with your family is not, but shhhh - with your parents you don't exactly get to do the things you want to do. ;)

We'll be on a free and easy trip, and here's a peek at the itinerary we planned:

11-16: Hokkaido
16- 17: Kyoto
17-19: Tokyo
19 - 22: Nikko
22-23: Tokyo

And in between hours of train rides and walking in c-c-cold and seeing snow, hopefully!

SO EXCITING!
and i love my sis :D <-- she added this

thankful

The term is officially OVER!

So many things to look forward to this holiday, JAPAN being the first and foremost. 12 whole days of cold, good sushi (hopefully i can afford it everyday!), great company and basking in scenery and disneyland! Finally my childhood dream to shake mickey's hand is coming true. :) And Christmas, and meeting up old friends, and serving in choir ministry in church (just joined!), and staying at home to watch teevee properly (properly = without having to time myself cos need to do work haha), and shopping, and and so many wonderful things!

Gathered at Nat's place yesterday for a thanksgiving party, and it was a great time of giving thanks to God for all He's done for us in SMU and amongst the madness of law.

I could go on forever about the things I'm thankful for - His comfort when I feel swallowed up in work, His assurance when I begin to fear for my grades, His blessing whenever I sow, His grace over my family, His angels in disguise around me... praise God. :)

16 weeks of law school has impacted me in ways I have never imagined. I feel like my eyes have opened up to a whole myriad of things, and there is so much more to learn and to do and to improve on. It was a rollercoaster ride, the term - at times thrilling, at times heart wrenching, at times tiring, but eventually fulfilling. I would go back in there and do it all over again (which actually I will be next month lol), but not without a well deserved break first lah.

On another note, I've an ENTIRE free day at home today! Going to do my duty as a good daughter and do the housework. But I will stay away from cleaning the toilets, washing the clothes, wiping the tables, scrubbing the walls, ironing the clothes, hanging up the clothes, cook a proper meal... so that leaves sweeping the floor and keeping the clothes into their respective cupboards. okay no problem.

And start to think about the humongous amount of things to pack for Japan, perhaps.

I LOVE uni holidays. :)
