Walking by faith is something easy to say, but hard to do especially when things don't go as planned. But we try all the same, and I'm no exception. This blog is in some ways cathartic, in others a means for me to pen my thoughts and struggles as I walk this life and learn to trust God more with each passing day.

The gang leader

Talking about ez-link card pictures... oh man...

Arrived at JP to meet kenneth(kn) and yinsing(ys) and edmund and junhan yesterday, just to catch up on old times. Then ys had to leave along with junhan (duh! hee) so only three of us were left.

Everything went well, until we decided to sit at Mac's to chit-chat.

I had a very serious laughing fit!!!!!

My tummy hurt pretty bad. =(

Why?? Cos we started to compare ez-link card pictures.

Kn making fun of me. As usual.

Note to kn: How dare you say my ez-link picture hah! heh heh.. just you wait ah... *evil smirk*

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

The one in the left is noone else but kn!!!! yar lor yar lor very shuai hor? wahahaha~

The one in the right, in case you don't know... is me.

Kn said I looked like a gang leader in the picture. Do I really??!!

If you are have a laughing fit right now, better don't let me see you.

Humph.

Then... went for the bbq later in the evening to celebrate audrey's birthday..=)

The food was pretty darned good!! Yummmm~

Practised for talent time, played block catching and chit chatted till late... Don't know why, but I was the innocent victim of han long's crazy antics.

Whatever... man dot dot dot!! ;) okok inside joke.

A couple of pictures here!

Some of us~

Audrey's cake!! Are you rocking on the chair we got for you aud? =D

Dum dee dum... Tomorrow got school..

I am so dead. Haven't done any homework yet!!!!

Shall do it later.

Anyway.. some have asked if I felt stressed out in nj.

Honestly, I don't really feel it... at least not yet.

Maybe it has to do with the class I am in. It's fun, so I guess that kinda holds the stress level down.

" There is no such thing as stress in the world, only people having stressful thoughts. "

Saw this quote somewhere. It makes some sense... chew on it!

ajtjay;o';k;lajhdg

This is so irritating. Typed in a new entry yesterday night and suddenly the page hung.

Blah.

Yesterday was the annual Road Run!! The whole school population had to run all around the bt timah estate (3.7km for girls, 4.4km for guys), and it was funnnn.

Sean Chua won 2nd place amongst all the nj year 1 guys leh!! Glory glory glory cooommmoonweeallth...

What's more, LIGNUM (my house my house) WON THE CHALLENGE TROPHY!!!!!!

*gringringrin*

yippee... after the event I went to Louis's house with my s22 mates + aud to practise for talenttime -- three of us plus two guys on guitar -- the audition's on monday!!! Oh my.

The song we'll be singing is "Streets of London". Never hear before hor? But it's nice and mellow... haha if Ian (my classmate/guitarist) is reading this he'll probably give the du diao face.

Whatever man.. dot dot dot!!!!

Okay sorry. Inside joke.

Will be meeting css choir pals later for lunch.. can't wait to see them!! =)=)=) Then to hanlong's hse to celebrate dear audrey's birthday.

Wait for my update! =D

feeling lame

WAHAHAHAHA!!

The show on channel 8 is so friggin' lame I feel like pulling my hair apart.

ahhhhh!!

Picture Tripitka (the monk in the sun wukong show.. dunno how to spell) singing "Only You" with his facial expression comparable to Fafa's (the sissy in the 9pm weekday show on channel 8).

Like, just go and die!!!!!! hahahahaha~

During Lit class Mr Dio told us to 'die' in Shakespeare's context also meant to have an orgasm.

ObVIOuSly in my case, it is the other meaning, which is to die. To pass away.

*cheeky grin*

Bleah... today I went swimming with my sis.

As much as I love little kids, today I almost felt like throwing all of them into the Singapore River.

The pool was jam-packed with little kiddies clad in their yellow-black swimsuits; all of them were bobbing up and down in the water so vigorously I had a headache watching them.

But this was not the key problem.

As I swam the length of the pool I had to make SO MANY u-turns in order to avoid crashing into them, and their swim boards kept banging onto me.

I couldn't take it anymore, so I rested at the edge of the pool.

To my dismay this little girl came up and started playing with her beeauutiful pink swim board -- by banging it on the water repeatedly, inevitably resulting in water splashing onto me as well.

Grrrrrr.

How I wish I were Hercules. Then I could throw all of them into the Singapore River.

Okay la I know I very bad... it's not their fault they had to go for swimming lessons right...

But...there's always a silver lining. As I rested at another spot this kid was learning how to swim from his dad (I assume la).

The kid was super-cute!! With big eyes that spoke, pink chubby cheeks and red pouty lips. So cuttteeee!

Funny how appearances can have such an effect.

He bobbed out of the water, and sneezed in such a cute way my heart melted.

"Papa I cannot!! How how..."

Papa: "Can one can one. Try again boy."

The cutie gave a resigned sigh and flung his hands around, which inevitably (again) resulted in me getting splashed.

" *gasp* Sorreee!! Sorrreee!! " the cutie said with his eyes wideee open.

Papa: "Aiyo see la you gave her the shock of her life.. *chuckle*"

Then the 3 of us started laughing to ourselves..

I don't know how you're feeling as you read this, but at that moment I had this heart-warming sensation. I could feel the love the father had for his child, and the admiration and respect the child had for his father. And I, a stranger, was somehow a part of.. this.

Eh.

You should be going, "Awwww...".

Hee. Okay la I should go pack my stuff for school tomorrow.

Speaking of which, I have to sing the school song with the choir in front of the school for assembly!!

Drats. Tried to memorise the Malay version and failed terribly.

Howhowhow??!! Maybe I should go "watermelonwatermelon".

*memories of c'est la vie flooding back*

Oh well. Have a smashin' week ahead~

Dou Jiang You Tiao - JJ (so nice!!)

kbox-ing with 1/3 of my classmates ;)

Had to leave early to meet my mum & sis for dinner though! I think they're still having fun now.

So jealous. Haha~

Thursday, January 20, 2005 @ 7:38 PM
tired.

Bleah.

I'm so friggin' glad the weekend is arriving.

The mucus simply refuses to stop flowing out of my nose glands. I feel like punching my own nose.

NOOO.. please do not let me be sick. pleasepleaseplease

Argh.. anyway this week passed with a wHirL!!

Had my first choir practice since last April and it felt super weird singing the same old warm-ups. I don't know what I did wrong, but the day after practice my ribcage hurt pretty bad. 0_0

So far I'm okay being in the choir (with roy dewei kal and char leh!! haha), but at the same time I itch to try something different.

Ah. We'll see.

Academic-wise, I'm still getting used to the whole tutorial/lecture thingamajig. Unlike in CSS where the good old teachers would scream in your ear to wake up and pay attention, the lecturers in nj really don't give a damn whether you're present in the lecture hall mentally.

Blah. I shall try to lengthen my attention span.

lalala..Due to the overwhelming number of names we have to remember in the school, dear nani and mavis from my class also invented numerous easy-to-remember nicknames for certain distinct characters.

I shan't elaborate, but it gets really funny at times!! =)

And then there are the scandals.

This week's focus was on M and HL, and all i can say is --- HAHAHA!!!!~ funnyfunny

* * *

News spread like wildfire. Heard some negative stuff about the css choir, and am pretty concerned..

Whether they are rumours or not, I'll still love the choir all the same. The problem is... do the pple in there share what I feel?

I sure hope so.. you guys jia you okay?

=)

Sunday, January 16, 2005 @ 8:32 PM

Not in western dance anymore!

Realised I did get into the choir, and I couldn't join dance at the same time as practices will definitely clash, with choir busy preparing for syf and western dance preparing for Danceworks.

So I chose choir...

I know I should step out of the box and try new stuff, but somehow I feel better doing something I'm more familiar with.

Perhaps after the first three months when the picture becomes clearer I might jump ship.. who knows?

And the nj choir doesn't actually seem tt boring after all.. chatted with a senior yesterday and also a junior joining it; they portrayed the choir as a fun cca!!

Hee. Oh well. Time will tell.

One of my classmates Jonathan will be leaving for Australia to study, and we'll be having a farewell for him soon..

Although we're not bosom buddies, I hate farewells all the same.

Sigh. =(

The Flea

MARK but this flea, and mark in this,
How little that which thou deniest me is ;
It suck'd me first, and now sucks thee,
And in this flea our two bloods mingled be.
Thou know'st that this cannot be said
A sin, nor shame, nor loss of maidenhead ;
Yet this enjoys before it woo,
And pamper'd swells with one blood made of two ;
And this, alas! is more than we would do.

O stay, three lives in one flea spare,
Where we almost, yea, more than married are.
This flea is you and I, and this
Our marriage bed, and marriage temple is.
Though parents grudge, and you, we're met,
And cloister'd in these living walls of jet.
Though use make you apt to kill me,
Let not to that self-murder added be,
And sacrilege, three sins in killing three.

Cruel and sudden, hast thou since
Purpled thy nail in blood of innocence?
Wherein could this flea guilty be,
Except in that drop which it suck'd from thee?
Yet thou triumph'st, and say'st that thou
Find'st not thyself nor me the weaker now.
'Tis true ; then learn how false fears be ;
Just so much honour, when thou yield'st to me,
Will waste, as this flea's death took life from thee.

This is a really interesting poem I encountered during Lit lecture. Just thought I'll share... it isn't as simple as the title suggests! ;)

I'm really glad I took Lit. *grin*

* * *

It's.. FRIIIIIIIDAYYYY!!!! *looney tunes music plays*

Ah. I can finally sleep for >7 hours.

This week was pretty hectic, (which kinda explains why I didn't blog much) with tutorials streaming in and new stuff to absorb; cca auditions to go for and also class outings.

But it's been a fun week nonetheless!!!

And you wouldn't believe it.

I managed to get into western dance!!!!

Okay okay I know I don't look like I can dance la, but you don't have to gasp until so loud right??!

Hee. As for choir... well I don't know if they will be accepting me.

Don't mind if they don't, though.

The NJ choir seems... different. More serious, less happening.

Maybe I'm just being biased.

Anyway.. the PE lessons are gruelling!!

Today's only my first lesson, and I ran a bloody 7 rounds around the bloody track.

Not continuous la, but tiring enough!! Sigh.

I must keep reminding myself that exercise is good. Exercise is good. Exercise is real good.

I'm loving my class more and more, which kinda equals to loving the school more and more too. =)

lalala...Have fun in this coming weekend!!

Then and Now

My current class -- s22!! ~

* * *

Now I know why Ry, joanna and lala went ga-ga over the hk drama "Triumph In the Skies".

Watched 7 episodes today and it was gooooooood!!

I might be a pilot myself..

*pui*

Okay la not possible. My eyesight is comparable to a bat's.

Anyway...

Went back to CSS yesterday for the CCA open house, and it was a nostalgic trip.

It felt so comfortable in css.

Every corridor, every classroom, every nook and cranny feels familiar.

The school exudes a kind of familiarity... that makes me smile whenever I enter it.

No matter how massive the changes are, I'll still miss the school.

A LOT!!~ =(

oh well.

Saturday, January 08, 2005 @ 3:43 PM
njnjnjnj!!

The Nj orientation ended with a huge BANG last night!!!

It was totally rockin'. ;)

Had WAR games on thurs where everyone had to either attack the other houses or defend our own houses -- in my case it was defend -- which was rather amusing.

Everyone was armed with these cute little coloured water guns and were running in all directions, shooting and squirting water like 4 year olds!!

My family was Pattriani, so whenever we saw peeps from the "cool" houses: Costello, Marcello (marshmallow counds better) and Antonio trying to squirt water towards our toga people, -- toga pple had cardboard tags on them which had to be dry; if the tags got wet it meant less points -- we would shout like mad for them to go back home and jump all around to prevent water from getting to the toga people.

Then there was the CCA Carnival, and I put my name in 5 CCAs!!

Doubt I'll be going for all of 'em anyway.

And oh ya last night!!!

We had a dance party and there was loads of pizza and drinks and... dancing!!!

Mass danced to three songs "Accidentally in Love", "Come on Over" and " Summertime" repeatedly and it was FUN!!~

Did lotsa YAHHHH-ing too... (refer to previous entry)

Finally can shout to the whole cheer!

YAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4, 3, 2, 1
WE DO OUR BEST
WE ALWAYS WILL
TO SERVE TO STRIVE
AND NOT TO YIELD!
NJC, ALL THE WAY
ALL THE WAY, NJC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hee.

And more dancing..

We all got so friggin' tired we went back to our table and played lame games... which were darned hilarious too.

Funfunfunfun!!!

But... the mugging starts next week.

Bleah.

s22!!!wallowwallowwallowWHOOSH~

Wednesday, January 05, 2005 @ 9:25 PM
I'm luurrvin it!

Dum dee dum.. got into s22, will be taking an odd combi and am happy getting into the class!

Honestly my first impression of the class yesterday wasn't that good.

But.. all that changed today!! ;)

Whoa. 24 hours does make a hell of a difference.

Realised also that joanna's good friend han long is in muh class.. how qiao is that??!

Anyhow I went for dinner with the class at King Albert's Park (KAP for short) at... guess where??

MacDonalds'. Where else?!

Yakked away with some of my new classmates with fries invading my mouth and it was kinda cool.

The ACS guys also told me about this teacher who looked like a bulldog and how they got her storming out of their classes... and I was wondering, how the heck does someone look like a bULLdOg??! Gawd.

Played some games at mac and laughed my arse off at the forfeits, (smear your finger with a gross mixture--- chilli, tomato, curry plus tar tar --- and let another person lick it off your finger! Ew.) mass danced for so long in the hall my butt aches, made lots of new friends... it's a new environment totally, and I'm trying to get used to everything.

For now, I'm happy with what I've got!

And I agree with kimpeng.. NJ's really fun, but the workload is HUGE.

I should be able to handle it la.

HA. Easier said than done!! But hell I'll enjoy this week first; the rest will come later... =D

Monday, January 03, 2005 @ 7:18 PM
*jump*

With the exception of all the boring talks, the first day in NJ was pretty FUN!

Well.. it's mainly because all the commonwealthians stuck together, resulting in a super-high group.

Anyway, i'm in lurve with the nj cheer.

Actually it's not a cheer, but I don't know how to call it. ;)

To start it off, some people have to shout, " YAHHHHHH!!!!", with one hand up in the air, jumping. *bounce bounce*

Then the rest will runnnnnnnnnnn runnnnnnnn...

to reach the yah-ing crowd

resulting in

a whole mass of mad people YAHHHHHHHHH- ING and jumping!!!

Then after yahing for many seconds it is continued with a cheer.

Which until now I can't figure out.

So what we did was:

BLAHGJALKJHNLA!!
BLAHBLHABLHLAH!!!
BLAHLABLHAALHL!!!
KJHGALL THE WAY!!!
NJNJ!!!
KJHHJBLAHBLAHALL THE WAY!!!

Come to think of it we looked a bit siao blah-ing to the cheer. ^^

Learnt the school song -- there's 2! One in malay and another in eng -- the english version sounds like a pop ballad.

Darn. I forgot the lyrics. Bleah.

Danced with two left feet to lala's fav -- "Accidentally In Love".. I think I looked retarded.

Waha who cares!! ;)

Anyway tomorrow we'll be split into different classes, and... let's just hope everything goes well..

Haha.. can't wait! =D

* * *

Yesterday's rapache outing was great, as usual!

Celebrated enci's birthday (belated) at NYDC @ Holland V...

We made rings engraved with the words RAPACHE 2012...

Woohoo!! (engraving is inside so don't try to look for the words)

Sigh.. I kinda miss rapache already.

But it's okay I have lala and jo with me!! *grin*

So... YAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*jump*

Hee. To all Year 1s, (omg it feels weird being a Year 1) good luck for orientation ya? ^^

Saturday, January 01, 2005 @ 2:11 PM
Doesn't feel like it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

But it sure doesn't feel like it.

On tv are scenes of devastation and sheer grief...

Asians weeping their eyes out...

People looking for other missing people..

Tsunamis suck.

BIG time.

hate tsunamis hate tsunamis hate tsunamis hate tsunamis

Yesterday I saw the news on tv.

This idiotic person donated a pair of high heels and expired food to the tsunami victims.

Like, why the hell do the people over there need HIGH HEELS??!

To dig up soil??

Sigh. Have fun in 2005, everyone.
